The Worldwide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 by knitting enthusiasts in San Francisco, USA. Too often, knitting is a housebound activity, and while the Web has given knitters unprecedented opportunities to share and socialise, we could all use a little face time. At the same time, knitting as a group in public lets us promote this awesome activity with others in the community. So on the 13th of June 2009, join your fellow knitters around the globe and meet your Christchurch co-conspirators at the Dux de Lux, from 11am onwards. You can also contact Amy on (03) 337 4968 or by e-mail for more information. Media enquiries are welcome. There are lots of creative activities planned in the run up to 13th of June. Keep checking the website and forthcoming activities page for the latest updates and opportunities to get involved. |
